Spey oak project, MAD
About the project
Spey Oak by MAD in a real interior – warmth, character, durability
Spey Oak by MAD walks into a home and instantly sets the mood: a warm shade, a pronounced grain pattern and a matt surface that is not afraid of everyday life. In this project the boards were laid parallel to the light from the windows, visually elongating the room. Glue-down installation ensured stability, and the skirting was matched to the colour of the boards, so the whole scheme looks cohesive and elegant. This is a floor that keeps up with the pace of home life – from hurried morning footsteps to evenings of toy blocks rolling across the floor. It is also easy to refresh – the oiled texture allows minor scratches to be repaired locally, without a full renovation. Quite simply, wood with character, but without the tantrums.
Why does this oak do the job so well?
If you are looking for a board that combines a natural look with a practical approach to life, Spey Oak by MAD fills that role effortlessly. You can see it in this project: no artificial gloss, a lovely depth of colour and board proportions that never overwhelm smaller interiors. In short: you fit it and you enjoy it – without stressing over every speck of dust. And if something does get scratched, a quick touch-up is all it takes to make it look like new again.
